Many people found in dance along the centuries advantages that helped them and gave them a new way in life: it can be useful at any age, promotes social relationships, its a great exercise to reduce the stress, helps to express your feeling and thoughts, gives you the ability to communicate in couple. Competitive dance, different than an activity just to spend your free time, has been recently renamed as Sportive Dance and it has a competitive structure organized at a highest level. Sportive Dance is structured in 2 levels: the latino- american containing: samba, cha-cha-cha, rumba, paso double, jive, and the european containing: slow waltz- know as english waltz and the new version slower than this the american waltz, viennese waltz, tango, slow fox, quick step.
The world today knows 3 types of waltz: the english waltz, the viennese waltz and the american waltz. The slow waltz its an English dance, first time its been danced in 1874 in a club from England under the name: Boston. It became known just in 1922 and after the First World War became better. This dance is romantic, elegant and slow. On the other side we have Viennese waltz that comes from the german word "walzen" wich means to glide, turn or roll, its connected with Vienna through the music of Strauss family. This is the fast side of waltz known from the XVII- XVIII centuries in Vienna and accepted in 1816 in England also. Today we have another type of waltz: it’s the American waltz which is slower, more elegant and more romantic, accepted of most of the couples at their weeding day. The count for the american waltz is what makes the waltz very simple and easy to dance, slow enough so you are able to get your steps and footwork in with enough time in between transition. The count is one- two- three, one- two- three, timing is 3/4 meaning that it is only one beat per step. You can see all of this in the next video. Enjoy your video.
